Job Title: Project Planner Location: Richards Bay, KZN

Job Summary:
The Project Planner will be responsible for developing, managing, and tracking project schedules for our heavy industrial manufacturing plant. This role is critical in ensuring that projects are completed on time, within budget, and to the required quality standards. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in project planning, excellent organizational skills, and a keen eye for detail.
Key Responsibilities:
· Develop detailed project schedules, including the identification of key milestones, deliverables, and resource requirements.
· Coordinate with project managers, engineers, procurement teams, and other stakeholders to gather necessary information and updates.
· Monitor project progress against the schedule, identifying and addressing any potential delays or issues.
· Conduct regular schedule reviews and updates, ensuring all stakeholders are informed of any changes.
· Prepare and present detailed project status reports, including timelines, risks, and issues to senior management.
· Utilize project management software to maintain and track project schedules.
· Assist in the development and implementation of project management best practices and procedures.
· Collaborate with the procurement team to ensure timely delivery of materials and equipment.
· Analyse project data to identify trends, risks, and opportunities for improvement.
· Support the project team in risk management and mitigation planning.
· Ensure compliance with all relevant safety regulations and company policies.
Work Environment:
· This position is based in a heavy industrial manufacturing plant.
· Candidates must be able to work in a noisy, high-energy environment and comply with all safety regulations.
· Occasional travel may be required to other facilities or project sites.

Required Skills

Candidate Requirements
Qualifications/Requirements:
· Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Construction Management, Project Management, or a related field.
· Minimum of 5 years of experience in project planning & scheduling within a heavy industrial manufacturing environment.
· Proficiency in project management software such as Microsoft Project.
· Strong understanding of project management principles, methodologies, and best practices.
· Excellent organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
· Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams.
· Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
· Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and prioritize tasks effectively.
· Attention to detail and a high level of accuracy in work.
Preferred Qualifications:
· Certification in Project Management (PMP, PMI-SP, or equivalent).
· Experience with Lean Manufacturing or Six Sigma methodologies.
· Knowledge of industry-specific standards and regulations.
